Kleur: helder lichtgeel.
Geur: ingetogen en fruitig, rijpe appel en peer, grapefruit, ananas en hint van vanille.
Smaak: sappig en rijp wit fruit. Mild en rond van smaak. Rijkdom, goede zuren en lengte.
Houdbaar: Nu op dronk, blijft zeker lekker tot eind 2028
Lekker bij: vrijwel alles uit de zee, viskoekjes, Thais, parelhoen, pittige vega gerechten.

Vineyard
The grapes are grown in unique sites using sustainable viticulture from older vines (planted 1982 bush vines) nurtured by a passionate grower who shares our philosophy.

Winemaking
All the grapes are hand harvested and cooled down overnight in a temperature controlled cold room. Bunch sorting takes place in order to select only the best grapes. Fermentation takes place in French oak 2000 litre foudres, season barrels and stainless steel tanks to give the wine a beautiful depth. Each vessel resulted in a different expression of Chenin Blanc, imparting a layered dimension to the wine. The wine was aged on its full lees in French oak barrels for nine months to add to the complexity and mouthfeel.

Elizma and Ferdi Visser source this old-vine Chenin Blanc from a 1982 parcel in Rawsonville that yields grapes with especially thick skins. Fermented and aged in a combination of oak barrels, concrete, foudre and stainless steel, it has aromas of honeysuckle and vanilla spice and a focused, nuanced palate of citrus and tarte tatin. 2025-30

Lively & fresh 2023 leads with savoury notes of yoghurt & cream from 10 months on lees wrapped around pineapple & yellow plum. Rounded mouthfeel but tangy lemon finish in similar vein to 2022

Chenin blanc met gewicht. Kun je enigszins verwachten van een domein met een dergelijke naam. Afkomstig van old bush vines. Gefermenteerd op groot hout (2000 liter foeders). Sur lie gelagerd op Frans eiken. Vulling, vulling, vulling maar zonder zwaar te worden. Rijpe appel, peer en zoete grapefruit. Honingspatje op perzik in room, een karamelrandje en ragfijne chenin zuren. Bepaald geen grijze muis.
