Geur: rode appels, rijpe peren, vijgen, meloen, iets kruidig, noten, complex
Smaak: krachtig, veel rijp wit fruit, amandel, dat typische ‘waxy’ van semillon
Houdbaar: nu op dronk, zal tot 2026 lekker blijven
Lekker bij: kalfsvlees, gevogelte zoals parelhoen of goede kip. Stevige vis als leng of kabeljauw. Niet te koud serveren, ongeveer 10 graden.

Mariëtte:
Papaya, fig, and tropical fruit aromas such as honeysuckle and melon on the nose, as well as lightly wooded elegance with an undertone of stewed apricot. The palate is loaded with stone fruit, marzipan and almonds which is surrounded with a waxy creaminess. Medium pallet with weight in the front. Terroir driven wines to be enjoyed with a beautiful rebel on your side.

A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush. In times like this we must appreciate what we have because sometimes the best is closer to home than what you realize. This gem of a vineyard is planted in 1997 and was rediscovered on the family estate recently. By changing vineyard practices and winemaking techniques this unique wine was born. Search for the beauty rather than criticize the shortfalls.

From 24 year old vines on clay-underlain sandstone, orientated n-w to optimise cooling winds. Fresher & livelier in 2021, a spectrum of tropical & stonefruit flavours mingle with semillon’s nougat, almond & lanolin, infusing bright acid with waxy breadth. Part natural ferment in tank & old oak (some Hungarian), 9 months in barrel.
