Vinification
The vines are all planted with the “stok by paaltjie” method on a terraced slope. We harvested this first crop of the three separate parcels together on the 9th February and whole bunch pressed. After a quick settling, the juice were fermented in one 550L Amphorae and left on the leese untill bottling in November 2022. We kept the wine in the bottle for one year before release.
Rianie:
This is the second grapes harvested from these vineyards as well as the second release of this wine. The palate is smooth, creamy and textured with a soft acidity. The taste is a combination of yellow stone fruits, a touch of earthiness and salty aftertaste.

The Strydom 2023 Stellenbosch Siblings Chenin Blanc Roussanne Marsanne is the wine in the orange capsule. The blend is 59% Chenin Blanc, 24% Roussanne and 17% Marsanne. The grapes are co-fermented in 500-liter amphorae made locally with South African clay and sold under the brand name Yogi (or Yogi de Beer). There is also one Manetti red-clay orcio from Tuscany. Vintner Rianie Strydom would like to increase her use of amphorae and experiment with more white clay. This is the second release of this beautiful wine. The elements come together beautifully with a pronounced fruit profile, with creamy orchard fruit and pretty herbal highlights. The wine is fleshy and soft.

Showing her well-honed skills as a blender, Rianie Strydom makes this three-way blend with Chenin Blanc, 24% Roussanne and 17% Marsanne. Musky, spicy and scented it has nicely understated oak, some wet earth notes from amphora ageing and flavours of pear, citrus and peach. 2024-28
